Important Information

The entire philosophy of homeschooling is personalized education to a learner based on their abilities, aspirations, or generally the family core values and philosophies. It is based on the belief that no one knows your child better than you, the parents.

We believe that all students irrespective of age should maintain their love of learning by expressing their creativity freely while discovering who they want to be or who they were meant to be. The will to learn and the right to discover your passion in life may not and cannot be forced onto you when you are provided with the freedom and self-driven ability to find yourself within a mutual respected community like homeschooling.

With the above in consideration, we started HSAN to bring educational options to those Namibians who cannot adapt to the traditional school environment.

What does HSAN stand for?

MISSION
To provide resources, information, and a community to homeschoolers, enabling them to offer their children a quality education tailored to their individual needs.

VISION
To create a thriving homeschooling community in Namibia where parents and children are empowered to pursue personalized learning experiences.

We are a support and guidance body.

We are here to guide and assist parents who choose to educate their children through online or home-based programmes—often due to their children’s inability to cope within the state or public school system.

We help families make informed decisions, understand their rights and responsibilities, and navigate available educational options in a way that upholds both the spirit and the letter of the law.

We remain committed to working with the Ministry and other stakeholders to ensure that all learners—regardless of their educational setting—are respected, supported, and given the opportunity to succeed.

Our primary goal is to ensure that these educational alternatives remain accessible, legally recognized, and aligned with the Basic Education Act—particularly for learners who are unable to thrive in mainstream or traditional school environments.

Testimonials

Support from HSAN was at all times excellent, in particular from Monja who was always prompt, efficient and friendly. The motivational sessions were a big help too when my daughter was struggling at one stage. A few simple suggestions made all the difference.

I must say enrolling Jessica in homeschooling has been one of the best decisions we ever made. At school, Jessica’s progress remained extremely limited due to lack of support with her learning difficulties.
